Antonio Percassi, through the holding Odissea srl, finalized the acquisition of the complex Crespi D’Adda located in the hamlet of Capriate San Gervasio (BG).
It is a unique example of industrial archaeology, listed since 1995 in the Unesco World Heritage: it represents an example of “Industrial Worker Village” among the most well preserved in the world. The acquisition was authorized by the Board of the Ministry of the Architecture and Culture.
The complex, with a surface of about 90,000 square meters in an area of about 135,000 thousand square meters, 36,000 of which wooded, dates back to 1878 and was used to be the factory of the Crespi family, becoming later on base of factories, still in the textile sector, with the transfer to Sti and to the Legler family. The factory hosted for 125 years manufacturing processes until 2003, and the apartments are still taken.
Thanks to this operation, Antonio Percassi will join in this suggestive location the head offices of the different activities, now located in Bergamo and Milan. The new offices will be operative before the start of the Expo 2015, after finishing the renewal, that should start in 2014.
The building will have a multipurpose function: beside becoming the new headquarter of Percassi, with offices and centres for research, Crespi D'Adda will be transformed in a cultural centre, seat of the new instituted “ The Antonio Percassi family Foundation”.
